Bavya Health Services and Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim initiated a Project called “Mobile Village Clinics” in the state of Sikkim and operating 8 Mobile Village clinics to strengthen public health care service delivery system and to make health care services accessible to the vulnerable population living beyond reach of Government health service delivery system.
As part of the project the villages beyond the reach of PHCs or Sub‑centres will be covered by our Mobile Team consists of MBBS Doctors, Dentists (deputed by Government of Sikkim) and paramedical staff like Staff nurses, Lab Technician & Pharmacists. The team will reach to the villages through a well‑equipped vehicles which has the infrastructure to provide 27 different types of Lab & Diagnostic services facilities with over 120 types of medicines to serve the beneficiaries at their door‑step.
This is a flagship program of the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Prem Singh Tamang and monitored closely by the state health department and Chief Minister office to ensure efficient service delivery. The serviced were launched on the auspicious occasion of our “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” – 75 years of independence on 15th August. Till date we are able to serve about 10,000 beneficiaries in the state of Sikkim. These MVC Services were envisaged to provide Maternal health, Neonatal & Infant Health, Children, adolescent health (RMNCH+A), Non‑communicable diseases (NCDs), Minor ailments like fevers, cold, cough etc.., dental, ENT care services, Geriatric care services and Emergency medicine. Immunization and Vaccination services were also extended though MVC facility with the help of District Health authorities.
