The Patient Provider Support Agency (PPSA) is a specialized project implemented under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the National Health Mission (NHM). The main aim of PPSA is to engage and collaborate with private healthcare providers so that people with tuberculosis (TB) receive high-quality diagnosis, treatment, support, and follow-up care in both public and private health sectors.
Involving private clinics, doctors, and labs in TB care so patients receive quality services wherever they seek care.
Ensuring all TB cases in the private sector are notified to the Nikshay database for better tracking.
Facilitating access to high-quality tools like NAAT and X-rays to reduce delays and improve accuracy.
Providing free TB drugs and financial support for diagnostics and treatment adherence.
Using counselling and adherence monitoring to reduce treatment default rates.
Integrating private care with the government's public health system for nationwide TB control.
Identifying private providers and conducting training on TB diagnosis and notification standards.
Linking patients with diagnostic services and ensuring registration in the Nikshay database.
Using counselling, SMS reminders, and home visits to track progress and prevent default.
Facilitating incentives for providers and patients while maintaining real-time data updates.
Connecting patients with government hospitals for specialized drug-resistant TB or HIV services.
